Another card

Hi everyone - this afternoon I have a photo of another card I have made using up one of the basic sample folded corner cards;


This one is a 5x7 card rather than the square card.  After a little bit of thinking I remembered I had some offcuts of embossed card in my ""scrap" box - so I got them out & had a play with the layout.

I didn't like the seams between them so covered them with lilac peel-off borders.  Then when I had decided what I would make as a topper I bordered the corner fold as well.  The butterfly stamp was one of a set that was on a magazine before Christmas. I stamped in Versamark Ink & heat embossed with gold EP, then coloured the butterfly with my pearlescent watercolour paints.  I decided just before putting it all together that it was lacking something - so I stamped & coloured another butterfly & cut it out. I then used my new Wink of Stella clear crystal pen to add a sparkle & shaped the wings before placing it over the other image.

I am still undecided how to finish it off - it needs something behind the top right of the folded corner. I am sure I will think of something.

CSNW Photos & last post

 Good afternoon ladies this afternoon I have the photos from the CSNW S&T for June. The theme I set was any theme of their choosing but using the colours red, white & blue.  Here are their cards. Amy Two nice classic style cards from Amy Grace Simplicity is the key here They are so elegant too. Gwen Beautiful embossed card & flowers which have been decoupaged Joan A stepper card with a beautiful circular central topper. Thank you ladies for sending them in - certainly very different styles today. So! - Last post? Over the last year or so all 3 clubs have been getting themselves sorted out in order to continue running the clubs from now on. Remember I announced in 2019 that I would be standing back at the end of 2020 & retiring.  I will of course keep in touch & visit the meetings now & again.  But it is now time for me to hang up my stamps.  Well not literally as I will still make cards - but you know what I meant. All 3 clubs now have the way forward sorted.  C

Jayne Nestorenko

Good morning I was informed this morning, by Rita of Mold II club, that Jayne Nestorenko had passed away on Saturday evening after a long illness. I suspect that there may be some amongst you who do not know of her - but many who do. I followed Jayne's work for a long time & many of those lovely large wooden stamps that were around came into my collection beause of her enthusiasm & creativity. I particularly enjoyed using, & held many workshops at Daleside, to show how to use the Treasure Box stamps which were very popular; I cannot now remember who made those stamps & there were different sizes & you made different shaped boxes according to how many pieces you stamped.  Then of course you also had the matching medallion stamp to place on the top of the box. The crafting world is saddened by the loss of this lovely lady. Sleep peacefully Jayne.
